Executive Summary
- Controlled in-situ demolition of modular buildings at Stoke SCC
- Delivery under the Network Rail Framework Agreement
- Full isolation of services prior to works commencing
- Segregation and responsible disposal of materials in line with our Zero to Landfill commitment
- Installation of new kerb lines
- Reinstatement of the footprint with Type 1 MOT
The Challenge
The condition of the modular buildings meant craned removal was not feasible. This required a revised approach to ensure safe dismantling without compromising surrounding infrastructure.
Key considerations included:
- Safe isolation and verification of existing services
- Controlled demolition within a critical operational rail asset
- Environmental compliance and responsible waste handling
- Full reinstatement of the area following removal
The works required careful planning, sequencing and coordination to maintain safety and operational continuity throughout the programme.
The Solution
Swallow Site Services implemented a structured demolition and reinstatement strategy, including:
- Isolation and confirmation of all services
- Controlled, phased in-situ demolition of modular structures
- Segregation and removal of materials from site
- Responsible disposal aligned with our Zero to Landfill commitment
- Installation of new kerb lines
- Reinstatement of the footprint using Type 1 MOT to provide a stable, level surface
All works were delivered in accordance with Network Rail standards, site-specific requirements and framework procedures.
